More than 17 years after OVH was born, the company announced its Digital Launch Pad programme to support innovative startups in the digital arena and provide them with reliable, flexible and suitable infrastructures.
In 1999, Octave Klaba, as a student at ICAM, Lille, founded OVH. This was how the adventure began for the company which was initially launched as a startup. A cloud and Internet infrastructure specialist, the company has established itself as an essential partner to hundreds of thousands of professionals all around the world. Structured around its own datacentres, the enterprise designs and operates its own worldwide fiber optic network, reducing latency times and delivering content securely.
OVH's growth has been marked by many innovations; notably, water cooling has made way for the removal of air-conditioning in its datacentres and has reduced energy costs. The incurred savings are passed along to all users which host their data in the group’s 20 datacentres, located throughout Europe and North America. OVH is currently working to bring seven new datacentres online on four continents.
Now 1,500 employees strong, the company continues its expansion around the globe while keeping the startup spirit which allowed it to grow. OVH maintains strong links with local ecosystems and hosts startups in its offices. At the annual OVH World Tour Events, the company showcases startups which have chosen to work with OVH. Including Giroptic, which hosts its users’ 360° content at OVH (video) and Connit, the startup specialising in IoT (video)
On a daily basis, the company works using the agile method to remain flexible during its rapid growth. The Digital Launch Pad is a natural progression of OVH’s daily commitment to startups.
Innovation is Freedom
True to its philosophy, “Innovation is Freedom”, OVH supports startups by providing them with real added value compared to its competitors. Pricing and the technologies used by OVH are transparent and offer total freedom to startups participating in the Digital Launch Pad program. OVH wishes to provide startups with access to the latest generation of technologies so that everyone can pursue their ideas and sustain projects.
High performance and security
The OVH Cloud offers its users guaranteed and secure resources which are redundant in order to provide the highest level of service. Anti-DDoS is provided in all our datacentres, in Europe as well as North America. Each customer is also able to select the geographical location of its data.
OVH teams can tackle the technical issues associated with large companies as well as those of startups. Infrastructure and network architects are able to handle technically complex projects. OVH aims to support startups by providing them with an environment designed to suit their technical and financial needs.
