What's new at OVH in May? (2/2)
Network, New Products, Events... Here's a recap of all the news not to be missed over the last few days.
•Improvement of our network capacity
The continuous upgrade of our network infrastructure still lies at the heart of our trade. Among our latest improvements, we created our first PNI (Private Network Interconnection) with Canadian operator Telus on the Montreal PoP (Point of Presence) and our exchange point with Linx Extreme (UK) has gone from 1x100G to 2x100G. Moreover, our exchange point with CoreBackbone was launched a month ago in Germany and is already highly loaded so we have just upgraded it to 4x10G. We have also activated a new PNI of 1x10G with Oran Link/IslaLink in Marseille and that PNI is now allowing us to increase our exchange capacity with Algeria. In Eastern Europe, we have been working on our links between Amsterdam, Frankfurt and Warsaw. This currently gives us a total exchange capacity of 300G between Amsterdam and Warsaw, as well as 300G between Frankfurt and Warsaw through several optical paths, providing us with full redundancy between the various PoPs. We are expecting to increase our network capacity even more in the coming days.
•Price decrease for Windows licences
Prices for HG and SP Public Cloud instances are going down by as much as 40% on some models. For new customers, this price decrease is effective immediately. For customers who are already using the service, it will be automatically applied to their next bill. Spawn some Public Cloud instances.
•Update of the Anti-DDoS Game
The Game Anti-DDoS protection blocks attacks by distributed denial of service. The 1.5.0 update has been deployed and now the game Minecraft: Pocket Edition has its own protection from the OVH Game Anti-DDoS. This update has also fixed a few minor issues with TeamSpeak 3 and has improved Anti-DDoS performance with ARK. Also, please note that we have doubled the guaranteed bandwidth on our MC-128 Game server, which goes from 250Mbps to 500Mbps. Order a Game server.
